[From Joshua Whinery:] The competition is Presented by Kahbang, a growing music/art/film branded production company here in Bangor, which I am now Film and Art Director, and helped start up with a handful of local talent.

The competition begins on December 18th. There will be an informational meet & greet at the Whig & Courier Pub in downtown Bangor (18 Broad Street) at 8PM when all participating teams will be given a prompt. Interested participants (actors or filmmakers) in need of a team can also attend this meeting in order to be paired up with other teams. The 48-hour competition period begins at 9PM. The top final films will be screened and judged on the evening of January 1st at the Bangor Opera House. There will be guest judges for the screening and prizes for the winning teams. Awards will be given for best overall film, best interpretation of the prompt, best actor and best actress. The awards will be determined by a combination of the Judges scores and the audience votes. All entries will also be posted on the festival website at the conclusion of the festival. We are actively looking for teams wishing to participate, and already have a handful signed up.

What makes this 48 hour competition the best of the best is you do not have to be in Bangor to participate. Teams from as far away as Ireland have participated in past years, so get your team together and show off your filmmaking talent!

Also the prompt that you must use will be much more unique than a line of dialog or name of a character or a specific genre…so just wait and see.

Interested teams must register and pay the $10 team fee before the competition period begins. We will have a way to pay at www.kahbang.com as well, but feel free to pay at the Whig that night. I just wanted to get this out there to all of you I felt might be interested and interested in passing it along. Let me know if you have any questions or comments…please email me at…..
