NewsCorp is in a dispute with CableVision right now over broadcast rights on their cable network, and so they made Hulu block all CableVision Internet customers from accessing their shows on Hulu.
This is ridiculous…going at net neutrality from a different angle, but it’s still a gross violation.
Eh, net neutrality is not exactly a lost cause, but an uphill battle to be sure. The Internet is run by private companies, and if they want to charge extra for certain content, or restrict you from accessing certain content, they’re entirely within their rights to do so (to my knowledge). Generally I wish the govt would just take over the Internet and run it as a public utility, tax-payer funded and all that.
