Call for Applications Interactive Screen 1.0 Beautiful Lives Program dates: August 16, 2010 – August 20, 2010 Guest Curator: Daniel Canty Now in its 15th installment at The Banff Centre, Interactive Screen is the Banff New Media Institute’s (BNMI) flagship new media event. This year, Interactive Screen 1.0: Beautiful Lives will look at the way new media intersects with our aspirations and ambitions, individual or collective, convergent or contradictory, for the betterment of life. Participants invariably come away from the event with fresh ideas and alliances, a refined set of skills, and a renewed faith in the power of new media.
Interactive Screen 1.! 0 Scholarship Intensive New media makers interested in developing a creative project or reflective essay related to this year’s theme are encouraged to apply to the Interactive Screen Scholarship Intensive. Scholarships are available for up to 10 Canadian and international applicants and include focused mentorship and public presentation opportunities, a travel stipend of up to $550, and full financial support for program tuition, meals, and shared accommodations on The Banff Centre campus. Participants arrive two days before the start of the main Interactive Screen program. Application deadline is July 13.
BNMI Co-production Lab: Self-directed Co-productions The Banff New Media Institute invites artists, producers, content creators, and researchers working with form, content, and themes that connect with the field of new media to submit project proposals for Self-directed Co-production residencies. We provide the time and space for focused work in a retreat setting. Design your own residency. Projects in all stages, from experimentation to production, are welcome.
